Sudan Indian Saudi Arabia: Friend Saudi Arabia rescued Indians trapped in Sudan, gave a big gift on Eid!

Khartoum:Saudi Arabia has come forward to help Indian citizens stranded in Sudan. Along with its citizens and diplomats, Saudi has also evacuated the stranded people of other countries including India. The Sudanese army said on Saturday it was coordinating efforts to evacuate diplomats from the US, Britain, China and France out of Sudan by military planes as fighting continued in the capital Khartoum, including the country’s main airport. It is noteworthy that the bloody conflict in this African country continues for the second week. The Sudanese army said its chief of staff, General Abdul Fattah Burhan, spoke to leaders of various countries, who requested the safe evacuation of their citizens and diplomats.

Most of the country’s airports have turned into battlefields and operations outside the capital, Khartoum, have proved dangerous. “Burhan has agreed to render necessary assistance in such safe evacuation to various countries,” the army said. With Sudan’s main international airport closed and millions confined to their homes, questions are being raised about how the mass evacuation of foreign nationals will be handled. Clashes between the Sudanese army and a powerful paramilitary group in and around Khartoum have left countries scrambling to repatriate their citizens as evacuations become too risky.

Saudi diplomats expelled from port

With the main airport in the heart of the capital Khartoum closed, countries have asked their citizens to take shelter in safer places until they can make evacuation plans. A paramilitary group called the Rapid Support Forces opened heavy fire as part of an attempt to capture the airport. Burhan said Saudi diplomats had been evacuated from Port Sudan, Sudan’s main port on the Red Sea, and sent home.

16,000 US citizens stranded

Earlier this week, the US Defense Department said the Pentagon was sending additional troops and equipment to a naval base in Djibouti, a small country in the Gulf of Aden, to prepare for a possible evacuation of US embassy personnel from Sudan. On Friday, the White House said that 16,000 US citizens were feared trapped in Sudan. However, it has no plans for a coordinated evacuation and has asked US citizens to take shelter in safe places. Burhan said on Saudi TV station ‘Al Hadath’ on Saturday that no evacuation would be carried out from Khartoum’s airport because of the conflict.

Army controls all airports

he/she claimed that the army had regained control of all other airports in the country except the airport in the southeastern city of Nayala. “We share the concern of the international community regarding foreign nationals. The living conditions are getting worse. ”The rival sides said on Friday that they had agreed to a ceasefire during the three-day holiday on the occasion of Eid al-Fitr. Earlier this week, two attempts at a ceasefire failed. ‘People need to realize that the war has been going on since day one,’ said Atiye Abdalla Atiye, secretary of the Sudanese Doctors’ Syndicate. According to the World Health Organization (WHO), the deadly clashes in Sudan have claimed over 400 lives so far.
