New Delhi. The Australian legend, who had bid goodbye to Test cricket in January this year, now wants to return to the field again. David Warner says that if the team needs, he/she is ready to break his/her retirement and play against India in the Border-Gavaskar Trophy. 37-year-old Warner had announced his/her retirement after the home Test series against Pakistan this year. Warner had scored 91 runs (34+57) in his/her last Test match.

Left-handed opener David Warner, while talking to ‘Code Sports’, offered a comeback to his/her cricket board and team. he/she said, ‘I am always available. There is just a delay in receiving the call. I am always serious about this. David Warner further said, ‘To be honest, if they need me, I will be very happy to play the next Shield (Sheffield) match. I retired for the right reasons. But if they need me, I am ready to return.

David Warner said that he/she had sent short messages to both Chief Coach Andrew McDonald and Chief Selector George Bailey regarding this. he/she said, ‘I also talked to Coach McDonald about this. his/her reply was that you have retired. Maybe they don’t want to give me a chance to be happy by asking can you make a comeback.

International career ends with defeat
Let us tell you that from next month Australia and India have to play a 5-match test series. Australia has lost the last two Test series to India at home. David Warner was also a part of a losing series to India. Perhaps out of grief over that defeat and a desire to take revenge, he/she is desperate to return from retirement. David Warner played his/her last international match in the T20 World Cup on June 24 this year. India had also defeated Australia in this World Cup match. In this way, Warner’s international career ended with defeat at the hands of India.

David Warner has played 112 test matches for Australia. Apart from this, he/she has also played 161 ODI and 110 T20 matches for his/her country. Warner was counted among the most dangerous batsmen in the world. he/she was known for giving explosive starts to the team before his/her retirement.
