Successful test of nuclear missile from ballistic missile submarine, Navy Chief confirmed

New Delhi : Indian Navy Chief Admiral Dinesh Tripathi confirmed that India successfully tested a nuclear missile from a ballistic missile submarine. It is believed that this is Nuclear Submarine (SSBN) INS Arighat, which was commissioned in August. Answering media questions before Navy Day, Admiral Tripathi said that the missile was tested without a warhead and the launch was successful. The concerned agencies are evaluating the trajectory of the missile. The Navy Chief said that SSBN INS Arihant, which is the first nuclear submarine, is doing deterrence patrolling. Separate trials and missile tests of the second nuclear submarine INS Arighat are going on. Referring to the approval to build two Nuclear Attack Submarines (SSN) for the Navy, he/she said that the Navy will get the first Nuclear Attack Submarine by 2036-37. You will get another one after a few years. The Navy Chief said that the deal for fighter jet Rafale-M for the Navy will be signed next month. Besides, the deal for three Scorpene submarines is also in advanced stage.

Pak Navy is increasing capacity with the help of China

Navy Chief said that we are aware of the surprising growth of Pakistan Navy. By the next decade it will become a navy of 50 ships. Considering the economic condition of Pakistan, it is surprising how they are acquiring so many ships and submarines. he/she said that many ships and submarines of Pakistan are either being built in China or with the help of China. China is interested in strengthening Pakistan Navy. The 8 submarines being built by Pakistan will increase their combat capability. Admiral Tripathi said that we are fully aware of what is happening and we are making our preparations accordingly. We are fully prepared to deal with any threat. China’s submarine last came to the Indian Ocean region last year. She went to Karachi and then went back.

One ship will enter the Navy every month
The Navy Chief said that currently 62 ships and one submarine are being built in different shipyards. The requirement of 31 ships has been approved. Requirement of 60 Utility Helicopters-Marine (AON) has also been approved. These will replace the outdated Chetak helicopter. he/she said that in the next one year, about one ship will be inducted into the Navy every month. 96 ships and submarines will be inducted into the Navy in the next ten years. Admiral Tripathi also launched the Navy Vision Document.
