Success Story of Gaurav Kaushal: The story of Gaurav Kaushal teaches us that real success does not lie in fulfilling the expectations of the society, but in finding oneself and moving forward in the direction of dreams. In today’s time, we often judge people’s success by degrees and jobs. But Gaurav’s story challenges this thinking. Gaurav, who dropped out of IIT, bypassed BITS Pilani, and then got 38th rank in UPSC Civil Services Examination, has taken many strange decisions in his/her life and proved them right with his/her hard work.

First left IIT Delhi and then BITS Pilani

Gaurav is from Panchkula city of Haryana. he/she was always keen on studies. Gaurav cleared the IIT-JEE exam and took admission in IIT Delhi. But he/she soon realized that engineering was not for him/her.

he/she left IIT and took admission in B.Tech in Computer Science at the prestigious engineering college BITS Pilani. But he/she was not interested there either and finally he/she completed his/her degree from Punjab Engineering College.

Gaurav always loved challenges, so he/she decided to give the UPSC exam. In 2012, he/she passed the UPSC exam and started working in the Indian Defense State Service (IDES).

In his/her civil service job, he/she was entrusted with the responsibility of taking care of army land across the country. Even after working honestly for 12 years, Gaurav again felt that something was incomplete. Surprising everyone, Gaurav also left his/her prestigious IAS job.
