This fellowship is for those who have completed studies equivalent to a US bachelor’s degree and have three years of work experience.

For the study of which subjects fellowship is available?

The Fulbright-Nehru Masters Fellowship is available to students who wish to pursue a two-year master’s degree at an American college or university. This fellowship is given for the study of Economics, Environmental Sciences/Studies, Higher Education Administration, International Affairs, International Legal Studies, Journalism and Mass Communication, Public Administration, Public Health, Urban and Regional Planning and Women Studies/Gender Studies.

What is the eligibility criteria?

The applicant must have a Bachelor’s degree with at least 55% marks from a recognized university in India. This degree should be equivalent to America’s Bachelor’s degree. If the applicant’s Bachelor’s degree is less than four years, then he/she/she must have a full-time Postgraduate Diploma or four-year graduation degree or Master’s degree from any recognized Indian institution.

The applicant must have at least three years of work experience. This experience should be related to the field which he/she wants to study after coming to America. The applicant has done social service and has shown his/her leadership abilities. Applicants should not already have a degree from an American university. he/she should not have been admitted to any degree program in America.

If the applicant is employed, he/she or she must obtain endorsement from his/her or her employer on the FNMasters Employer’s Endorsement Form. In this, the company or employer will have to tell that you will be given leave for the entire period of your studies. It must be ensured that all instructions given regarding employer support are followed.

What is the benefit of scholarship?

Students who receive the Fulbright-Nehru Master Fellowship will be granted a J-1 visa. The student will also get an air ticket to come from India to America to study and then return to the country after completing the course. Tuition fees will also be funded through fellowships. Additionally, living and other expenses will also be covered through the fellowship. Accident and illness insurance will also be available under the guidelines of the US government.
