Commonwealth Masters Scholarship 2025: The British government is giving an opportunity to study for free in Britain. Every year the British government provides ‘Commonwealth Master Scholarship’ to the children of Commonwealth countries, for which the application process has started. What is the benefit of scholarship?

Commonwealth Scholarship is only for one year master’s program. MBA cannot be pursued through this. Scholarship provides funds to cover the expenses incurred while studying in Britain. The student receiving the scholarship is also given an air ticket to go to Britain and then return after completing the studies. The scholarship also provides tuition fees, living expenses and a monthly stipend. Money for warm clothes and thesis grant is also given to the student.

What is the eligibility criteria for Commonwealth Scholarship?

• The student applying for the scholarship must be a citizen of India.
• The student must have at least 60 percent marks in graduation.
• The student must prove that he/she or she cannot study in the UK without the scholarship.
• Before applying for the scholarship, the student must also obtain an offer letter for admission to the university listed on the CSC website.

The Ministry of Education will nominate candidates based on various criteria, including the QS ranking of the university from which the student has received an admission offer letter, the student’s commitment to return to India after completing studies, and his/her or her socio-economic background. It is important to note that nomination does not mean selection for the scholarship, as the final decision will be made by the Commonwealth Scholarship Commission.

Scholarship Application Process and Timeline

To apply for Commonwealth Scholarship, one must first apply on the Commonwealth Scholarship Commission’s online application system and the Indian Ministry of Education’s SAKSHAT portal. After submitting the application, the student must provide a photocopy of his/her passport, academic transcript, admission offer letter from a British university and language certificate (IELTS or TOEFL scorecard).

The initial selection of students receiving the scholarship will be done by the Ministry of Human Resource Development in India. The ministry will shortlist the students based on their applications and interview them in New Delhi.
