US-Europe degree difference: In India, after completing graduation, students take admission in universities and colleges. Where Bachelor’s degree is usually of three years. In America, undergraduate or bachelor’s degree studies are conducted for four years. Many subjects are taught during this period. In contrast, undergraduate courses in European universities are of three years only. Here during the course, more focus is given on specialized fields. If we talk about fees, American universities are known for their expensive fees, where up to Rs 80 lakh is spent on at least four years of study.

In European countries like Germany, France, Italy the fees are much lower. In some universities, admission is given without tuition fees. Students just have to pay a few hundred euros as semester fees. In this way, three years of study can be completed in some universities in just one to two lakh rupees.

Choosing a Major Subject

The best thing about studying in America is that students get a chance to study many subjects in four years. After studying many subjects, they finally have the option to choose their major subject. Here, major subject refers to the subject which the student wants to study as the main subject during his/her course. It contains subjects like Chemistry, Biology, Physics. The flexibility given to students in choosing their subjects is very useful for them.

On the other hand, during admission in European universities, students have the option to take admission directly in the course they want to study. For example, if someone wants to study Chemistry then he/she takes admission in B.Sc Chemistry. Because of this approach of universities, students are helped in making their career with more focus. But because of this students are not able to retain much knowledge of other subjects.

There are many types of colleges in America. Students have the option of studying in liberal arts colleges, public research universities and private institutions. Universities in Europe, especially in Britain, are much older and they focus on specialization. Difference in campus life

The campus life of any university-college decides what kind of experience the students are going to get by studying there. The campuses of American colleges are very busy and full of facilities. Here you will find hostels, sports facilities and student organizations. Students studying in such an environment are able to mingle well with other students. However, America appears to be lagging behind European colleges in terms of student safety.

European universities, on the other hand, have very limited on-campus facilities. Students have to live in flats or apartments outside the campus most of the time. Because of this they are forced to live an urban life. Even though living in the city gives them a chance to learn a different culture, they are not able to mix with the students. However, European cities are known for their safety.
