New Delhi. The Indian team’s explosive performance continues in the ICC Under-19 T20 World Cup. After defeating West Indies by 9 wickets, the defending champions defeated Malaysia by 10 wickets. In its second match of the World Cup, India secured a place in the Super Six with lethal bowling and stormy batting. India reduced the Malaysian team to just 31 runs on the basis of the lethal bowling of Vaishnavi Sharma, who took 5 wickets including a hat-trick on debut. After this, the match was won by achieving the target in 17 balls i.e. 2.5 overs without losing any wicket.

Indian captain Nikki Prasad won the toss and chose to bowl against host Malaysia. Indian bowling, which restricted West Indies to 44 runs, looked even more lethal. Even before scoring 25 runs, 5 batsmen of the host team had returned. The team had lost only 6 wickets for 30 runs but Vaishnavi Sharma, playing her first match in the World Cup, immediately wiped out Malaysia’s lower order by taking a hat-trick.
