Stopped at 127 runs, then did all the work with 49 balls left, Team India’s dominance in T20


New Delhi. India has started the T20 series against Bangladesh with a bang. Team India defeated Bangladesh by 7 wickets in the first T20 match played in Gwalior. The Indian team is ahead 1-0 in the 3-match series. India made the return of the cricket match in Gwalior after 14 years memorable by registering a victory. Indian bowlers first bowled out Bangladesh for 127 runs with sharp bowling. After this, on the basis of excellent performance by the top order batsmen, Team India easily won the match. The second T20 match will be played on 9 October at Arun Jaitley Stadium in New Delhi.

Chasing the target of 128 runs set by Bangladesh, the Indian team scored 132 runs for 3 wickets in 11.5 overs. Young opener Abhishek Sharma was out early. Abhishek scored 16 runs in 7 balls before runout. Sanju Samson was out after scoring 29 runs on 19 balls, while captain Suryakumar Yadav played an inning of 29 runs on 14 balls. Hardik Pandya scored 39 not out while Nitish Kumar Reddy returned unbeaten after scoring 16 runs.

2 debuts together in Team India… the first is a speed merchant and the second is an all-rounder, will trouble Bangladesh.

Bangladesh’s innings ended at 127
Earlier, due to the excellent performance of the bowlers led by Arshdeep Singh and Varun Chakraborty, India bundled out Bangladesh for 127 runs. Fast bowler Arshdeep took 3 wickets for 14 runs while leg spinner Chakraborty, playing his/her first international match after almost three years, also took 3 wickets for 31 runs. Due to which Bangladesh team was limited to 19.5 overs. Washington Sundar, Mayank Yadav and Hardik Pandya also took one wicket each. Mehdi Hasan Miraj was the top scorer for Bangladesh by scoring 35 unbeaten runs. Facing 32 balls, he/she hit three fours. Apart from him/her, only captain Nazmul Hussain Shanto (27) could cross the 20-run mark.

Indian captain Suryakumar Yadav won the toss and decided to bowl first, which was proved right by Arshdeep Singh. Liton Das (04) hit a four in the first over of Arshdeep’s innings but after waving the next ball in the air, he/she gave an easy catch to Rinku Singh at short cover. Opener Parvez Hussain Imon (08) hit a six on Hardik but Arshdeep’s ball was played on the wickets due to which Bangladesh’s score became 14 runs for two wickets. Tauheed was lucky to score three runs when debutant Nitish Kumar Reddy took an easy catch at deep square leg off Chakraborty’s ball and the ball went for four runs. Tauheed also hit a four on the next ball. Captain Nazmul Hussain Shanto also hit a six in the same over. Chakraborty was playing his/her first international match after the 2021 T20 World Cup. Debutant fast bowler Mayank bowled his/her first over maiden in international cricket.

Bangladesh scored 39 runs for two wickets in the power play. Tauheed (12), however, could not take advantage of the lease of life and was caught by Pandya at long on in Chakraborty’s next over. Mayank got his/her first international wicket by getting Mahmudullah (01) caught by Washington Sundar at deep point. Chakraborty bowled Zakir Ali (08) and Bangladesh’s score was 57 runs for five wickets in the 10th over. Sundar gave the sixth blow to the team by catching Bangladesh captain Shanto on his/her own ball. Rishad Hussain (11) hit sixes and fours on consecutive balls of Mayank but was caught by Pandya on Chakraborty’s ball. Taskin Ahmed (12) completed the team’s century in the 15th over with a four off Sundar but was then run out. Pandya bowled Shoriful Islam (00) while Arshdeep ended Bangladesh’s innings by uprooting the wicket of Mustafizur Rahman (01).
