New Delhi. Steve Smith has created history in Test cricket. Smith, captaining the Australian team on Sri Lanka Dare, completed his/her 10,000 runs in Test cricket as soon as he/she ran a run on the first day of the first Test match. he/she achieved this feat in the first Test of the two -match series being played between Australia Sri Lanka at Gaul International Stadium. Smith needed only one run before this test to reach this point. he/she completed his/her ten thousand runs in the Test by taking one run off the ball of spinner manager Jayasuriya.

Right -handed batsman Steve Smith became the world’s 15th to score ten thousand runs in the Test while Australia became the fourth batsman. Earlier, Alan Border, Steve Waugh and Ricky Ponting touched 10,000 runs for Australia. Smith also broke the Maharikord of Sachin Tendulkar during this period. Smith became the second batsman in the world to complete 10,000 Test runs in the lowest matches.
