Star players flopped, even Suryakumar Yadav could not play a big innings


New Delhi. Many star players of the Indian team are currently playing in the Buchi Babu tournament. The aim of these players is to make a comeback in Team India’s Test team by performing brilliantly in this tournament. But Shreyas Iyer, Sarfaraz Khan and Suryakumar Yadav, who were part of the Mumbai team against TNCA XI, could not do anything special. As a result, TNCA has set a huge target of 510 runs in front of Mumbai.

On the second day on Wednesday, Mumbai’s team was reduced to just 156 runs in reply to TNCA XI’s 379 runs in the first innings. Suryakumar Yadav (30) could not convert the good start into a big innings. Sarfaraz Khan (06) and Shreyas Iyer (02) also failed to make plans to stay on the crease for long. TNCA spinner R Sai Kishore took five wickets for 36 runs. Lokeshwar S was the top scorer for TNCA XI in the second innings on the third day with 73 runs and he/she got good support from Athish SR (57 runs) and Mokit Hariharan RS (52 runs).

TNCA took a lead of 223 runs in the first innings
TNCA XI scored 286 runs in the second innings. On Thursday, TNCA XI openers Athish and Lokeshwar shared a 142-run partnership. But spinner Mushir Khan ended this partnership by dismissing Athish. TNCA XI continued to lose wickets at regular intervals and the team collapsed at 286 runs. TNCA XI, which took a lead of 223 runs in the first innings, gave Mumbai a target of 510 runs to win.

Tanush Kotian took 5 wickets
For the Mumbai team, spinner Tanush Kotian took five wickets for 91 runs while experienced Shams Mulani took four wickets for 73 runs. In the second innings, the visiting team scored six runs in two overs and did not lose any wicket.
