South actress accuses Riyaz Khan of casting couch, says he/she gave her cheap offer over the phone


A young actress had recently accused Siddique of sexual harassment. She has now levelled fresh allegations against South actor Riyaz Khan. The actress claims that Riyaz Khan got her phone number from a photographer and then contacted her. Riyaz allegedly spoke inappropriately to her over the phone. In a recent interview, the actress said that Riyaz Khan allegedly asked if she wanted to have an intimate physical relationship with him/her and then started talking inappropriately. She further alleged in an interview with News 18 that Riyaz Khan also asked if she could introduce him/her to friends who wished to connect with him/her. Speaking to the media, the actress said that people like Siddique and Riyaz Khan should be banned from the film industry. Earlier, veteran Malayalam actor Siddique resigned from the post of General Secretary of the Association of Malayalam Movie Artists (AMMA) on August 24 following allegations of sexual harassment levelled against him/her by a female actor. Siddique said, ‘Yes. I have submitted my official resignation to the president of the organisation. Since there were allegations against me, I decided not to continue in the post and resigned.’

Recently, Bengali actress Srilekha Mitra had accused Malayalam filmmaker Ranjith of misbehavior, which forced him/her to step down as the head of the government-run Kerala Chalachitra Academy on Sunday, August 25. he/she said, ‘I am being targeted by a certain section of people since the day I took over as the president of the academy. I have to prove to the society that the allegations are false.’

Revelations after Hema Committee Report

In an audio statement while resigning, Ranjit said, “I have decided to proceed legally and bring out the truth. Many people including the media are attacking me without understanding the truth, I have decided to step down from the post.” These revelations have been made in response to the recently released Hema Committee report, which highlights sexual harassment, casting couch and many other issues faced by women in Malayalam cinema.
