Sonakshi Sinha: Arbaaz noticed me at Amrita’s wedding, felt like an arranged marriage was happening

Sonakshi Sinha made her Bollywood debut with the 2010 blockbuster film ‘Dabangg’. The way she was cast for this first film compared her to an arranged marriage setup. Recently, in a conversation with Kareena Kapoor on Season 5 of the podcast ‘What Women Want’, Sonakshi talked about casting to play the role of Salman Khan’s love interest Rajjo in the film. Sonakshi Sinha is 21 years older than her in her debut film ‘Dabangg’. Became Salman’s heroine. he/she told, ‘Dabangg bus is ready. Salman Khan and Arbaaz Khan saw me at Amrita Arora’s wedding. At that time I had lost all my weight. he/she told me that he/she was writing something and he/she thought I would be perfect for the role. I never took what he/she said seriously.

‘My whole family sat and listened to the script’

Sonakshi further said that one day he/she came to my house to narrate the script. he/she said, ‘My entire family sat and listened to the script. After narrating the script, Arbaaz and my family nodded, shook hands and he/she got up and left.

‘When I reached the set, I felt like this is what I want to do’

Sonakshi said, ‘After that I saw that I was on the sets of Dabangg. It seemed as if an arranged marriage was taking place. But once I reached the set, I felt like this is what I want to do and I have been doing this ever since. Let us tell you that ‘Dabangg’ was included in the superhit films of that year and after this she has been seen in important roles in all the sequences of this film.

‘I told Zaheer I love you within a week’

On the same podcast, he/she also talked about Zaheer Iqbal’s relationship. Sonakshi said, ‘I told Zaheer I love you within a week. I was very excited. We both got to know each other a bit, I felt something clicked, it happens many times when you feel that this person is yours. Something similar happened to me too and this had never happened to me before. I always took my time, but I did not think anything about getting into a relationship with Zaheer.
