Sometimes a cylinder on the railway track, sometimes an iron rod… who wants to harm the railways?

New Delhi : Near Bilhaur railway station in Kanpur, UP, the loco pilot of Kalindi Express applied emergency brakes after seeing a cooking gas cylinder placed by unknown people on the track. This averted a major accident. The train was going from Prayagraj to Bhiwani. It was fortunate that the cylinder did not get stuck in the engine and explode, otherwise a major accident could have occurred. The train could have derailed due to the sudden emergency braking. Apart from the damaged cylinder, many suspicious things including a bottle filled with petrol and matchsticks have also been recovered near the incident spot. Police say that a conspiracy was hatched to derail the train. Police have detained two people in this case.

Not the first incident of conspiracy

This is not the first incident of such conspiracy on railway tracks. In the last few months, incidents of trains derailing have been reported in different parts of the country. In these incidents, heavy objects are being deliberately placed on the tracks with the intention of disrupting rail operations. Last month, 20 coaches of the Ahmedabad-bound Sabarmati Express train derailed on August 17 between Kanpur and Bhimsen Junction of Jhansi Railway Division. This accident also occurred after hitting a heavy object allegedly placed on the tracks by some anti-social elements. The driver said that a big stone hit the train’s engine, due to which the ‘cattle guard’ installed in its front part to protect from animals got badly damaged and bent.

Kalindi Express Train: Conspiracy to overturn Kalindi Express in Kanpur, train collided with a gas cylinder kept on the track
Just last month, in Pali district of Rajasthan, unknown miscreants had placed a cement ‘block’ on the railway track. Due to this, the Ahmedabad-Jodhpur Vande Bharat train collided with it. However, there was no damage in this accident. A case was registered against an unknown person in connection with this incident. Similarly, in July, 18 coaches of Mumbai-Howrah Mail derailed in Seraikela-Kharsawan district of Jharkhand. 2 people died and 20 people were injured in the accident.

Many videos are coming on social media

In recent times, many videos have surfaced on social media in which stones, iron rods and cement blocks are being placed on the railway tracks. In the Kalindi Express incident, along with gas cylinders, chemicals and explosives were also found in bottles on the railway track. After such accidents, security agencies also need to be alert. In this regard, political parties have also demanded a high-level investigation from the government as well as the railways.

Video of threat from Pakistani terrorist

Last month, a video of a Pakistani terrorist surfaced. Farhatullah Ghori, a Pakistan-based terrorist on India’s most wanted list, released a Telegram video. In this video, he/she asked his/her followers to derail trains in Delhi and Mumbai. he/she also called for attacks on our country’s infrastructure and Hindu leaders. Officials are investigating recent incidents related to his/her message. Ghori has a history of carrying out various terrorist activities. The Pakistan-based terrorist has threatened to derail trains on a large scale in Delhi, Mumbai and other cities. In such a situation, Pakistani conspiracy behind such incidents cannot be ruled out.
