…So was the India alliance only till the Lok Sabha elections? Why were serious questions raised during the Delhi elections?

New Delhi: Congress and Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) are face to face in the Delhi Assembly elections. Whereas both these parties had fought the Lok Sabha elections together under the India Alliance. But the way the tussle is being seen between Congress and AAP in Delhi elections, questions are being raised about the future of India alliance of opposition parties. In fact, all the parties involved in the India alliance have different opinions. Most of the parties in Delhi have supported AAP instead of Congress. Whereas Omar Abdullah clearly said that stop the India alliance.

Alliance on the verge of breaking in Bihar too

After the statement given by the leader of opposition in Bihar Assembly, Tejashwi Yadav, regarding the India Alliance, questions have started being raised on the existence of the Grand Alliance in the state. The biggest question is whether Congress and Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) have parted ways. This question is very special because assembly elections are to be held in Bihar this year. RJD leader Tejashwi Yadav had reached Buxar on Wednesday as part of worker darshan and dialogue programme. During this time, when journalists asked him/her about Congress and Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) contesting elections separately in Delhi, he/she said that the India alliance was formed for the Lok Sabha elections. On the question of alliance in Bihar, he/she said that he/she has an old alliance with Congress.

‘…then this should be ended’

Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Omar Abdullah on Thursday expressed disappointment over the lack of clarity about the leadership and agenda of the opposition alliance ‘India’ and said if the alliance was only for parliamentary elections then it should be ended. Abdullah said the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP), Congress and other political parties will decide how to effectively counter the BJP. he/she said, ‘After the assembly elections in Delhi, he/she should call a meeting of all the members of the alliance. If this alliance was only for parliamentary elections then it should be ended and we will work separately. But if it is also for the assembly elections then we will have to sit together and work collectively.

Mamta Banerjee in support of Kejriwal

West Bengal CM Mamata Banerjee has also extended her support to Arvind Kejriwal in the Delhi Assembly elections. Even before this, Mamata Banerjee had expressed her displeasure with Congress. Recently some leaders of the alliance had talked about handing over the leadership of the India alliance to Mamata Banerjee. This was supported by former CM Lalu Yadav. Now Mamata Banerjee has given her support to Kejriwal in Delhi. From which it has become clear that clouds of crisis are looming over the India alliance.

It is not right to call Kejriwal powerful, a traitor: Sanjay Raut

Shiv Sena (UBT) leader Sanjay Raut on Thursday expressed his/her views regarding Delhi Assembly elections. he/she said that political parties are confused about the situation of Aam Aadmi Party in Delhi. he/she said that both Congress and Aam Aadmi Party are major parties and Aam Aadmi Party has the maximum strength in Delhi. he/she told that Aam Aadmi Party is winning the Delhi Assembly elections with a good margin and this situation is important for the party workers, which will encourage them in future. he/she condemned Congress leader Ajay Maken for calling Arvind Kejriwal a traitor. Said that it is not right to call Kejriwal a traitor. We do not agree with this statement, because Kejriwal and the Aam Aadmi Party are also respected members of the India Bloc, which is led by the Congress.

There is a split in ‘India Alliance’?

Politics has intensified over the claim made by senior Congress leader Prithviraj Chavan regarding the victory of Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) in the Delhi Assembly elections. On Prithviraj Chavan’s statement on Thursday, Shiv Sena leader Manisha Kayande said that the end of Congress is near. Manisha Kayande said while talking to IANS, ‘The end of Congress is now visible because former Maharashtra CM Prithviraj Chavan is talking like this. This means that there has been a split in the ‘India Alliance’ and only their alliance will destroy the Congress. It is clear from Prithviraj Chavan’s statement that their estrangement has increased a lot. Now the first step has been taken towards forming a Congress-free ‘Indi alliance’.
