Goj-Bota, ancient design of Assam

Assam’s famous actress Amy Barua selected Muga Silk Mekhla Sador Saree for her first appearance on the red carpet. This saree has been made by designer Momita Sharma of fashion brand Juthika. This magnificent attire is decorated with 200 year old Assamese designs like Goj Bota and Gam Kharu.

Goj Bota consists of small flowers and geometrics, which is the historical pattern of Assam. The design dates back to the Ahom dynasty, which is considered a symbol of the cultural and natural beauty of Assam. While Gam Kharu shows prosperity and security in Assam culture. To give an elegant look to this saree, the actress wore a full sleeve blouse and matching jewellery.

After presenting the history of Assam in her attire, Amy Barua was seen in a black and white saree. Her outfit has been styled by Adityam Saikia. The border of this saree is finely embroidered with golden stars while the entire saree is kept simple with black and white strips.

The work of adding life to AP’s look was done by her blouse, on the full sleeves of which multi colored blocks along with stars have been placed. Apart from this, keeping the breast portion in red color, flowers have been made by embroidering it with white threads. Designed with net cloth on the neckline. Amy’s blouse is making her simple saree unique.

After Muga silk Mekhela Chador saree, Amy Barua graced the red carpet in Assam’s traditional attire Mekhela Chador. This Muga silk saree has been designed by fashion designer Adityam Saikia. Which has been made with great detail by the local weavers and artisans of Jalukbari. The black and white border of light golden color and the design on the pallu are further enhancing its beauty.

Like every time, the actress also styled this saree with full sleeves blouse. It also has flared sleeves that extend from the ride shoulder to the left shoulder covering the back portion. Which is adding teasing factor to her look. Also, the combination of red and black is enhancing the beauty of the actress even more.
