Last month, Indian batsman Shubman Gill has been nominated for the best player of the month of February with Steve Smith of Australia and Glenn Philips of New Zealand thanks to their brilliant performance in the ODI series against England.
Top-order batsman Gill scored an average of 101.50 in the five ODIs played in February and 406 runs with a strike-rate of 94.19. Earlier, his/her batting was constantly raising questions because Gill was going through a bad form before that. he/she is in Dubai with the Indian team for the Champions Trophy.
Let us know that in the three -match series against England, Gill performed brilliantly in which he/she scored 87 (in Nagpur), 60 (in Cuttack) and 112 (in Ahmedabad). In the series, he/she was adjudged ‘Player of the Series’ in a 3–0 clean sweep on the hosts.
Gill then scored an unbeaten 101 against Bangladesh in the Champions Trophy and played an important innings of 46 runs against Pakistan. Apart from this, his/her performance against Australia in New Zealand and Australia was poor. India will now play from New Zealand on Sunday in the final of this ICC tournament. It will be interesting to see how Gill performs there.
