Shreya Ghoshal canceled her concert due to Kolkata murder case, said- we are united against the demons


The rape and murder incident in Kolkata has left everyone in the country stunned. From celebs to the general public, everyone is talking about it. At the same time, the best singer Shreya Ghoshal has cancelled her concert in Kolkata. The singer announced on Instagram and Twitter on Saturday that she will not perform in Kolkata in September as she was ‘deeply affected’ by the recent ‘horrific’ rape and murder of a doctor in the city. In her long note, she said that she has decided to postpone her upcoming Kolkata concert. Shreya Ghoshal wrote, ‘I am deeply affected by the horrific and heinous incident that happened recently in Kolkata. Being a woman myself, the thought of the brutality she must have gone through is unimaginable and sends shivers down my spine. With a heavy heart and deep sadness, I and my promoter would like to postpone our concert ‘Shreya Ghoshal Live, All Hearts Tour Ishq FM Grand Concert’, originally scheduled for September 14th, 2024, to a new date in October 2024.’

The concert, which was scheduled to take place at Kolkata’s Netaji Indoor Stadium, is now expected to be postponed to a later date in October. Tickets are priced from Rs 1749. “Hey, this event has been rescheduled but watch this space for updates,” the organisers said on their website.

Shreya further said in her note, ‘We all have been waiting for this concert for a long time, but it is extremely important for me to take a stand and join all of you in solidarity. I sincerely pray for the respect and safety of women not only in our country but in this world. I hope my friends and fans will accept and understand our decision to postpone this concert. Please stay with me and my band, as we stand united against the demons of mankind. I request you to bear with us while we announce the new date. Your tickets will remain valid till the new date.
