New Delhi. Australia’s Steve Smith will lead the team for the Test tour against Sri Lanka. he/she is struggling with an elbow injury. Cricket Australia (CA) on Sunday said that left-arm spinner Matthew Kuhneman is recovering after undergoing surgery on his/her broken thumb, which he/she suffered while playing in the Big Bash League (BBL). Smith also suffered a right elbow injury while fielding for Sydney Sixers in the Big Bash League on Friday.

CA said despite the injury, Smith is preparing to join the Test squad in Dubai this weekend and updates will be shared after specialist advice and until the wound from Kuhneman’s broken thumb surgery has further healed. Kuhneman played three Tests on the India tour in early 2023 and also took five wickets.
