Shivering cold will welcome in the new year, fog along with cold wave in Delhi… Know how the weather will be in January

New Delhi : Cold has increased after rain in many parts of North India including Delhi-NCR. The effect of snowfall on the mountains is clearly visible in the plains. The Meteorological Department has issued an alert regarding the cold wave. Shivering cold is being felt in Delhi at this time. According to the Meteorological Department, fog is expected to increase along with cold wave in the beginning of January in the new year. Apart from this, heavy snowfall is forecast in the hilly areas of Himachal Pradesh, Kashmir and Uttarakhand.

How will the weather be in the new year?

According to the IMD, the western disturbance near Pakistan is also likely to affect the western Himalayan region from January 1 to 6, 2025, and northwest India during the next two days. The weather bureau has predicted that cold wave conditions are likely to prevail in isolated areas of Himachal Pradesh from December 29 to January 1, 2025. It may turn into a severe cold wave in some parts of Himachal Pradesh on 30 and 31 December.

Cold will increase with fog in Delhi-NCR

The weather forecast in Delhi from December 29 to January 4 has predicted dense fog. There is a possibility of very dense fog on 29-30 December and dense fog on 31 December. The Meteorological Department has also issued an orange alert. In this situation, there is a possibility of increase in cold in other parts including Delhi and NCR.

Dense fog is currently being seen in many parts of Rajasthan, Punjab, Haryana and Uttar Pradesh. Driving can be difficult due to fog, especially in the morning and evening. The blanket of fog has further increased the cold in these states. Due to this the feeling of cold has become even more intense.

Cold wave in Punjab-Haryana

Cold wave conditions are likely to prevail in Punjab and Haryana from December 29 to January 3, 2025. Additionally, IMD has predicted cold days in Rajasthan on December 28 and 29. The Meteorological Department estimates that the weather may worsen further in the coming days and there will be a possibility of cold winds and rain. Dense to very dense fog is expected during late night and morning.

How will the weather be in other parts?

Dense fog is expected in Himachal Pradesh from 29 to 31 December. Similar situation is likely to prevail in states like Uttar Pradesh, Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh, Bihar, Odisha and Jharkhand during this period. Over eastern North India, dense fog conditions are likely over Sub-Himalayan West Bengal, Assam, Meghalaya, Nagaland, Mizoram, Manipur and Tripura from December 30 to January 2, 2025.
