Shivam Dubey has done the work of Hardik Pandya, now the responsibility is on Prithvi Shaw, Surya and Shreyas.

New Delhi. The biggest match in the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy took place on Friday. In this match, Shreyas Iyer, Suryakumar Yadav, Hardik Pandya, Shivam Dubey, Ajinkya Rahane, Prithvi Shaw, Shardul Thakur, Krunal Pandya took charge of their respective teams. In this match versus Mumbai, the most awaited thing was about Hardik Pandya’s batting and how he/she would thrash the Mumbai bowlers. But Hardik’s fans were disappointed. Mumbai all-rounder Shivam Dubey gave a big blow to Baroda by catching Hardik on his/her own ball.

The first semi-final of the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy tournament was played between Mumbai and Baroda. This match took place at M. Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru. Mumbai captain Shreyas Iyer won the toss and decided to bowl first. Mumbai bowlers liked this decision and they stopped Baroda from scoring big by giving continuous blows. Baroda team scored 158 runs for 7 wickets in 20 overs.

Baroda lost the first wicket for 23 runs. Abhimanyu Rajput was out after scoring 9 runs. After this, captain Krunal Pandya (30) and second opener Shashwat Rawat (33) took over the innings. Both of them took the team’s score to 73 runs. Baroda lost its second wicket in the form of Krunal Pandya on the first ball of the 10th over. As soon as the wicket of the opposing captain was taken, the Mumbai bowlers started gaining control of the match and within no time took 4 more wickets. As a result, the team whose score was 73 runs for one wicket, had lost 6 wickets for 103 runs.

Hardik Pandya did not live up to expectations
When Hardik Pandya came to bat at number five, Baroda’s score was 78 runs for 3 wickets. Baroda fans were hopeful that Hardik would play big innings and take the team to a big score. But his/her teammate Shivam Dubey of Team India did not allow this to happen. Shivam Dubey ended Hardik’s short innings by catching him/her on his/her own ball. Hardik could score only 5 runs.

Shivalik Sharma (36) and Atit Seth (22) brought the Baroda team, which had lost 6 wickets for 103 runs, to a fightable score. Both of them made a partnership of 49 runs in 27 balls.
