This 2022 comedy-drama film ‘Double XL’ had a disappointing box office collection of Rs 25 lakh on the first day when it released on November 4, 2022. The total earnings of the film were only 60 to 70 lakhs at the box office. It proved to be the mega super flop of that year.

In a conversation with Hindustan Times, Double XL director Satram Ramani revealed why he/she chose Shikhar for the role and how the cricketer was convinced to do the role. The 38-year-old Shikhar has been one of India’s best cricketers in the last decade, playing over 250 international matches for the country and captaining the team in a few. So, how did such a famous cricketer agree to do a cameo? Eventually, Saqib Saleem (who is also Huma’s brother) got the responsibility of convincing Shikhar for his/her ‘film debut’ and he/she agreed to it.
