Mehta said, “Efforts were made to stop the release of the film Faraz, based on the attack on Dhaka’s Holey Artisan Bakery in 2016, for about 18 months. The very friendly Bangladeshi High Commissioner of that time met me at home, I was constantly threatened by alleged sources in the Indian Cabinet Secretariat.

‘I am facing fake litigation in Bangladesh courts’

Mehta wrote, ‘I have received many calls from top police officials, so-called intelligence services, I have been provided police protection for alleged threats from terrorist organisations, I have had to go through long litigation in Indian courts, many people have made baseless allegations against me, I am still facing fake litigation in Bangladesh courts…’ The film ‘Faraaz’ stars Jahan Kapoor, Aditya Rawal, Juhi Babbar and Aamir Ali.
