I wanted to be Amitabh Bachchan

I had such an impact of acting that when I took me for admission to Convent School at the age of 3, Father asked me my name. I replied ‘Mr. Natwarlal’. Actually, in the evening before going to school, we saw Mr. Bachchan’s film Natwarlal. Mr. Bachchan’s acting had such a profound effect on me that I wanted to become Amitabh Bachchan since childhood.

At the age of 10, I did my first monologue at the age of 10. I received so much praise for this that I could not sleep properly for many nights. I also did theater in college. Won a lot of awards. I did not mind to do MBA, but Papa wanted me to first complete studies. More than my thought, he/she wanted me to change my mind, I should join their business. The ghost of acting should come down from my head, but it did not happen.

Ritu left America for me

Ritu and I have known each other from college time. We became friends first, then started liking each other. Then Ritu went to America to study for 4 years. So played long distance relationship. Then we got married. Now our daughter Eda has turned 18 years old. At present, daughter is in America for studying English Honors. She wants to become a writer and write children’s books. Along with this, she is also taking the theater training.

If you find a good partner, life becomes easier. I am lucky that I got a solved life partner like Ritu. Ritu is a web and graphic designer. She was doing a very good job in America. But left everything to marry me and came back to India. Ritu also took full responsibility of raising the daughter. Ritu has been doing work from long ago. They have the option to work from home. At this time, Ritu is managing most of her work from home.

Running marriage is not a difficult task

Commitment is very important in the marriage. You should get married only when you are committed to your partner. You decide that whatever we want, we will not be separated. We will fight-we will fight, but will not be separated. Will solve every problem together. You have no option to separate. This does not mean that a partner is harassing you, yet the relationship should be held, but all efforts should be made to maintain a relationship in the normal case.

There is an option to separate in the marriage relationship, so people think about it. There is no option to separate from parents, siblings, so we do these relationships throughout their life. I believe that marriage should be tied when you are ready to fulfill that relationship. Planning of the child is also done when you are ready to put at least 20 years of your life to give him/her good upbringing. In these 20 years, they are ready to give priority to the child before themselves.

The second innings of acting started like this

My parents are from Kashmiri, but my birth is from Mumbai. After studying in isolated schools in Mumbai, he/she did B com from NM College. Then did an MBA in International Business in Pune. Then after returning to Mumbai, I worked with Nadia Babbar’s Theater Group Acjut for 3 years. I was enjoying acting for the theater. But then marriage got married and felt that it is necessary to earn money for the family. The theater did not earn much. Papa had a export business of turbine pump, so I did business for 3 years, but I did not get satisfaction in it.

My wife was understanding that I am not feeling in business. One day the wife advised to give acting a chance. I liked the idea of the wife. But this time I chose acting like profession, not for hobbies. I started working for the television industry. In this I got both favorite work and money. In this way the second innings of my acting career started.

I am satisfied with my work

In the TV industry, the way people do the same show for 4-5 years, I could not do it. I could not stay more than 2 years in any show. Apart from the two shows, I did not work more than a year apart from these two shows. Perhaps I would have left TV if I did a very long show. I cannot do the same work for a long time.

I like acting because I get to do something new here everyday. The advantage of this is that I got a chance to do web series like Hyder, Laila Majnu, Mulk, Hamid, Rumor, Article 370, The Thinking Project, many popular AIDS and theater. Then the dubbing work also started. Now dubbing has become a part of my regular work. Currently, I am playing the role of Chairgit Raj in ‘Tenali Rama’ TV show. If I have to pay a lot of time, then I am currently busy in dubbing and TV shows, booking audio.
