Actress Sonakshi Sinha married Zaheer Iqbal in June 2024. Both were dating each other for seven years. And finally they got the registered marriage done at home amidst family and friends. Recently in a conversation with ‘Retro Lehren’, Shatrughan Sinha was asked When asked whether he/she supports his/her daughter’s decision to marry someone from another religion, the actor said, ‘Of course, I will support my daughter. I have no reason not to do so. This is his/her life and his/her marriage. They have to live life. If they are sure about each other, then who are we to be against it? As a parent and father, it was my duty to support him/her. I have always been with him/her, and will continue to be so. We talk a lot about women empowerment, how is it wrong for her to choose her own partner? It’s not that he/she has done anything illegal. She was mature.

Shatrughan enjoyed Sonakshi-Zaheer’s wedding

Expressing happiness over his/her daughter’s marriage, he/she said, ‘I was enjoying her wedding parties. I felt very happy meeting people and receiving their hospitality. Sonakshi and Zaheer were looking very beautiful together. There was a great atmosphere there.

Shatrughan Sinha spoke on sons not coming to the wedding

Shatrughan Sinha also talked about not attending his/her sons’ wedding. Refusing to comment on his/her sons’ decision of not attending his/her sister’s wedding, the veteran star said that he/she also understands their pain and confusion. ‘I will not complain. he/she is only human. Maybe they are still not that mature. I understand their pain and confusion. Maybe, if I were their age, I might have had a similar reaction. But, here your maturity, nobility and experience play a role. Therefore, my reaction did not turn out to be that much.
