Share Market Close: Share market closed with slight rise; Sensex above 66,000

Wednesday’s trading session was full of ups and downs for the Indian stock market. However, the market closed with a slight gain. BSE Sensex closed at 66,023.24 points with a gain of 92.47 points or 0.14 percent or Nifty closed at 19,811.85 points with a gain of 28.45 points or 0.14 percent.

If seen sector wise, today a decline was seen in banking, finance, metal, realty, media, finservice and government banking shares. Buying has been seen in Pharma, FMCG, IT and Energy stocks. In today’s session, smallcap and midcap indices closed in the red. At the same time, large cap indices closed with gains.

Shares of Infosys, NTPC, Power Grid, Titan Company, ITC, Tech Mahindra, HUL, Axis Bank, TCS, Bajaj Finserv, Reliance, UltraTech Cement, Bajaj Finance, HCS Tech, Asian Paints, L&T, Sun Pharma and Tata Motors in the Sensex pack. Closed in green mark.

Nestle, Wipro, Tata Steel, Bharti Airtel, ICICI Bank, SBI, Maruti Suzuki, HDFC Bank, JSW Steel, M&M, Kotak Mahindra and IndusInd Bank closed in the red.

Among Asian markets, markets of Tokyo, Hong Kong and Seoul closed higher. Markets in Jakarta, Bangkok and Taipei traded lower. European markets are trading at a brisk pace. At the same time, American markets closed in the red on Tuesday.

Crude oil benchmark Brent crude fell 0.68 percent or $ 0.56 per barrel to $ 81.89 per barrel. WTI crude fell $0.59 per barrel, or 0.78 percent, to $77.17 per barrel.

The Sensex was trading at the level of 65936.62 with a slight gain of 5.85 points at 9.16 am. Similarly, Nifty was also at the level of 19790 with a slight rise of 6.60.
