Shammi Kapoor and Asha Parekh’s girlfriend was upset with the marriage rumors, know what happened

In a recent interview, famous actress of yesteryears Asha Parekh talked about the rumors of her marriage with late actor Shammi Kapoor and told how his/her girlfriend was upset. Asha Parekh and Shammi Kapoor’s pair was well liked. Both gave many hit films like ‘Teesri Manzil’ and ‘Dil Deke Dekho’. Due to the onscreen chemistry of Shammi Kapoor and Asha Parekh, news of their affair started coming. But people were shocked when Shammi Kapoor revealed that he/she was married to Asha Parekh. However, it was a prank and Shammi Kapoor had lied. Now after many years, Asha Parekh has revealed about this. In an interview given to Arbaaz Khan, she told what had happened, and how Shammi Kapoor’s lie had backfired on him/her.

She said, ‘It’s a long story. We were shooting in Mahabaleshwar and I don’t know what Om Prakash ji thought when he/she said these two are married. Then there was a scene to be shot at Janaab Nasir Hussain’s house. Everybody was talking and everybody started whispering that they are married’. Devyani ji (famous journalist) was also there. She heard this and asked, ‘Are you married?’ I didn’t know this was happening.’

‘Mother was in shock, I went home’

Asha Parekh further said, ‘Shammi ji had forbidden me from saying anything. I said it’s okay. he/she was playing a prank. My father left. Everyone saw him/her go and asked why he/she left. Then he/she told that my mother was in shock so I went home. At that time he/she (Shammi Kapoor) was having an affair with someone. She (girlfriend) got upset.’
