Sham Kaushal cried in the corner after shooting the fire scene in ‘Om Shanti Om’

Bollywood film stunt director Sham Kaushal has shown many high-energy scenes on screen in his/her long film career. In an interview, Vicky Kaushal’s father and Katrina Kaif’s father-in-law recalled working with Shahrukh Khan in Farah Khan’s movie ‘Om Shati Om’. he/she has told that he/she had a heart attack due to the fire scene in the film. In a conversation with ‘Friday Talkies’, Sham Kaushal was asked about the most challenging scenes of his/her career, which required a lot of preparation. So he/she said, ‘To be honest, nothing like this happens. Every day I go to the set scared to make sure everything goes well.

How was the fire scene of ‘Om Shanti Om’ shot?

However, Sham Kaushal told that the fire scene in ‘Om Shanti Om’ was especially challenging. Describing this scene, he/she said that it was very tiring. he/she explained that VFX was not very advanced at that time and hence he/she and his/her team had to use live fire on the set, where there were three cameras and 60 team members working in it.

Sham Kaushal told in Hindi that he/she had to be very cautious while lighting the fire and extinguishing it. Because even a delay of one or two seconds could be dangerous. he/she told that 4-5 days of shooting was done using life fire, which was very difficult. The stunt director told that after completing the shooting, he/she went to a corner and cried.

Sham Kaushal said, ‘These are the moments that kill you and you feel like you are going to have a heart attack. I break down many times. However, Shahrukh Khan had told him/her, ‘Paaji, don’t take tension, I will leave in a jiffy.’
