Shahrukh Khan’s guru Eric D’Souza dies at the age of 74, had wished to meet the actor

Bollywood actor Shahrukh Khan’s guru Eric D’Souza died in Goa on Sunday 13 October after a prolonged illness. he/she breathed his/her last in an old age home built for retired brothers. he/she was 74 years old. he/she died at 1.20 pm at Shanti Niwas located in the Regina Mundi Church complex of Vasco. A few months ago, a Congress leader had appealed to Shahrukh Khan to meet his/her ailing teacher. his/her mortal remains will be taken to Shillong, where he/she taught for many years. The funeral is likely to take place on Wednesday, October 15. he/she was suffering from Parkinson’s disease and his/her health had been deteriorating due to some other complications in recent months. his/her body is currently in the mortuary of Goa Medical College and Hospital.

Eric D’Souza, fondly called Dasu, taught Shahrukh Khan at St. Columba’s School in Delhi. he/she also spent several years at St. Edmund’s School in Shillong and schools run by the Christian Brothers congregation in West Bengal, Delhi, Mangaluru, Assam and Meghalaya.

Shah Rukh Khan recalled the impact of Eric D’Souza on his/her life in the first episode of the 2000s chat show ‘Jeena Isi Ka Naam Hai’. In this he/she had described his/her former teacher as the guide of his/her life. he/she also said that he/she considers him/her as his/her ideal. ‘If there is one man in this whole world… I don’t have any idol or anyone I consider my idol, but he/she is the only person in the world whom I really consider my idol. he/she taught us to play football and hockey.

In June 2024, Eric D’Souza’s health deteriorated significantly. he/she wanted to meet Shahrukh Khan. The Congress leader had appealed to the actor in a tweet on June 15 to take out time and come to meet his/her guru as his/her health is very bad and he/she cannot even speak now. But rarely did the actor go to meet him/her.
