Shaheen Afridi out! Pakistan announces team for the second Test


New Delhi. The Pakistan Cricket Board on Thursday announced its 12-member team for the second Test match to be played against Bangladesh. The last Test match of the series between Pakistan and Bangladesh will be played at the Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium from Friday (30 August). Star fast bowler Shaheen Shah Afridi has not got a place in this team. Afridi was the leader of the pace attack in the first Test match. Pacers Mir Hamza and Abrar Ahmed have returned to the Pakistan team, who did not get a chance in the first Test match of the series. The host Pakistan team is trailing 0-1 in the two-match series.

Bangladesh team, captained by Nazmul Hussain Shanto, defeated Pakistan by 10 wickets in the first test match. Pakistan did not play a specialist spinner in the first test match, for which it had to suffer the consequences. Pakistan team has lost to Bangladesh in a test match for the first time. This is Pakistan’s second shocking defeat this year after the unexpected defeat against America in the T20 World Cup. Leg spinner Abrar Ahmed has been included in the Pakistan team. On the other hand, Bangladesh’s spinners Shakib Al Hasan and Mehdi Hasan Miraz played an important role in Bangladesh’s victory.

Pakistan came to its senses after losing the first Test. It has selected Abrar in the 12-member team who has taken 38 wickets in 6 Test matches. Pakistan Cricket Board announced the 12-member team for the second Test match on social media. Shaheen Afridi was released from the team after the first Test match. Afridi returned home after the first Test match played in Rawalpindi after the birth of his/her first son. Nothing has been clarified as to why he/she has not been included in the team for the second Test.

Pakistan Team: Shan Masood (captain), Saud Shakeel (vice-captain), Abrar Ahmed, Abdullah Shafique, Babar Azam, Khurram Shahzad, Mir Hamza, Mohammad Ali, Mohammad Rizwan (wicketkeeper), Naseem Shah, Saim Ayub and Salman Ali Agha.
