Shah will start, PM Modi will answer in the end…Government plans to field veterans for debate on Constitution in Parliament

New Delhi: BJP is making full preparations for the discussion on the Constitution. PM Modi will also participate in this discussion in the Lok Sabha and answer. This debate will be held in the Lok Sabha on 13-14 December and in the Rajya Sabha on 16-17 December. BJP’s aim is to show its commitment to the Constitution and attack the opposition. Before the 2024 elections, the opposition had accused BJP of changing the Constitution, to which BJP now wants to answer.Amit Shah can start the discussion
The Constitution will be discussed for two days in both the houses of Parliament. This discussion will take place in the Lok Sabha on 13 and 14 December, while in the Rajya Sabha on 16 and 17 December. All the big leaders of BJP will take part in this discussion. PM Modi will respond to this discussion in the Lok Sabha. Amit Shah can start the discussion in Rajya Sabha. JP Nadda and Rajnath Singh will also participate in the discussion in their respective houses. Nadda is the leader of the House in the Rajya Sabha, while Singh is the deputy leader of the BJP in the Lok Sabha.

BJP wants to give a message

By including all its big leaders in this discussion, BJP wants to give the message that it is committed to the Constitution. Also, the party wants to run the Parliament smoothly and answer the allegations of the opposition. BJP wants people’s opinion to be in its favor on this issue.

Since the Lok Sabha elections, BJP has been trying to show its commitment towards the Constitution at every opportunity. Ahead of the 2024 Lok Sabha elections, the opposition, especially the Congress, had accused the BJP of making changes in the Constitution if it came to power. To respond to this allegation, BJP declared June 25 as ‘Constitution Murder Day’. This day is celebrated as the anniversary of Emergency.

Many programs were organized on the 75th anniversary of the Constitution. Four central ministries including culture, tourism, law, parliamentary affairs and social justice were involved in these programmes. Since the Lok Sabha elections, discussion on the Constitution has become a regular part of the political debate. Both the ruling and opposition parties have been targeting each other on this issue. Through this debate, BJP wants to clarify its position on this issue and gain public support. It will be interesting to see what is the outcome of this debate in Parliament.
