Scored runs in IPL, challenged the selectors, I will play for India, someday they will have to choose me

Mumbai Assam’s young batsman Riyan Parag, who is constantly knocking on the door of the Indian cricket team, batted explosively for Rajasthan Royals this IPL season. he/she continued the top form he/she showed in domestic cricket and scored more than 500 runs. Parag has so much faith in his/her skills and abilities that he/she confidently says, “Whatever happens, I will play for India.”

Parag told PTI, “Someday you will have to choose me. This is my belief, I will play for India. But I don’t know when I will play.”

The 22-year-old from Assam has scored 573 runs in this season of the Indian Premier League (IPL) while batting at number four for Rajasthan Royals at a strike rate of around 150. In the last five years of the IPL, the 2018 Under-19 World Cup winner had not even scored 200 runs in a season.

Parag said, “When I was not scoring runs, I had said in the first interview that I will definitely play for India. This is my belief in myself. This is not my ego. When I started playing cricket at the age of 10, this was my plan with my father (former railway and Assam player Parag Das).”

Harbhajan Singh’s message to the team management, Hardik Pandya has suffered a lot, if the T20 World Cup is for him/her…

There is a possibility that Riyan will be selected for the Zimbabwe tour along with Abhishek Sharma and Harshit Rana. Parag said, “Whether it will be the next tour or a tour in six months or a tour in a year, I have not thought about when I will play. This is the job of the selectors, this is the job of other people.”
