New Delhi. Scoring a century in the debut test can be every batsman’s dream. This dream can come true only for some people. This dream of an Indian batsman came true on this very day. The year was 1985. Mohammad Azharuddin had scored a century in his/her first test match on 3 January 1985. Azhar’s series of centuries started in such a way that he/she scored centuries in his/her first three test matches. However, the end of his/her career was disastrous.

Whenever there is talk of wrist magicians in Indian cricket, the name of Mohammad Azharuddin is definitely taken. This Indian cricketer started his/her Test career in 1985 against England at the Eden Gordon Stadium. he/she played an inning of 110 runs on the third day of this match. After this, he/she scored centuries in the next two test matches also. Due to this his/her popularity reached its peak. Cricket fans named him/her Wonder Boy.

Mohammad Azharuddin earned a lot of name in his/her career. he/she captained India in 221 matches, which was a record till 2015-16. This record was broken by MS Dhoni (332 matches). Azhar also captained in 3 World Cups. Azhar, who reached this height of his/her career, suddenly fell to the ground in the year 2000. Delhi Police revealed that Azhar is involved in match fixing. Not only India, there was an earthquake in the entire cricket world. Indian Cricket Board banned Azhar for life. However, later the court removed this ban.

Test career stuck in 99
Due to match fixing, Azhar could not score a century in his/her Test career. Azhar played 99 test matches, in which his/her best score was 199. Azhar scored 6215 runs at an average of 45.03. Apart from this, Azhar also played 334 ODI matches.
