School Closed: Will Delhi-NCR schools open on Monday? Know the latest updates amid pollution

The pollution level in Delhi-NCR is in very bad condition. Because of this, online classes will continue in Noida schools. In view of the increasing level of pollution in Ghaziabad, it has been decided to keep the schools closed till further notice. The air quality in Delhi again reached ‘severe’ category on Saturday. The air quality index (AQI) stood at 412. Meanwhile, the maximum temperature was recorded at 29.4 degrees Celsius.
There is no certainty yet about when schools will open in Delhi also. Although restrictions have been eased under GRAP, Delhi’s air is still in the ‘very poor’ category. Therefore, no decision has been taken yet on whether offline classes will start or not.

Meanwhile, taking special care of the health of children in Gurugram, schools will remain closed due to bad air and online classes will be conducted. This decision has been taken by the Deputy Commissioner of Gurugram. he/she informed that ‘Online classes will continue till November 25, 2024.’ This order is for both government and private schools. That means there will be online education for all children from class one to twelfth.

New update in Noida:

Schools in Noida had decided to continue online classes till Saturday. This has also created confusion among parents whether they should send their children to school on Monday or not.
This update comes at a time when authorities had ordered schools to remain closed till November 23. Earlier reports had said that offline classes may resume on November 25, while the schedule of examinations and interviews will remain the same.
The order issued by District Inspector of Schools (DIOS) Dharamveer Singh said, ‘In view of the instructions given by the District Magistrate, Gautam Buddha Nagar on November 18, the Air Quality Index (AQI) of Delhi-NCR is in the ‘Severe+’ category. With regard to closure of physical classes from pre-school to class 12 due to AQI reaching more than 450, all schools of district Gautam Buddha Nagar are directed to follow the above order till 25th November. goes.’

It is noteworthy that the Central Pollution Control Board (CPCB) provides AQI updates every hour. The average AQI of Delhi till 4 pm on Saturday was 412. AQI is divided into six categories: ‘good’ (0-50), ‘satisfactory’ (51-100), ‘moderate’ (101-200), ‘poor’ (201-300), ‘very poor’ ( 301-400), and ‘serious’ (401-500).
