The number of cases against MPs and MLAs is continuously increasing. As of November 2022, Uttar Pradesh has the highest number of 1,377 cases registered against the Hon. The Supreme Court is scheduled to take up on Tuesday a PIL filed by Upadhyay for speedy hearing of cases against sitting and former MPs and MLAs.
41 percent cases more than five years old
The report said that 41 per cent of the total pending cases are more than five years old. Most pending cases in Odisha
