New Delhi: Air Force Chief Air Marshal AP Singh has made a big statement on the possibility of purchasing F-35 fighter aircraft from the US. he/she said that the US has not yet sent any formal proposal. Speaking at the India Today Conclave, Air Marshal AP Singh said, ‘The Indian Air Force has not yet analyzed the F-35 aircraft and its cost is also an important aspect. It is not a fridge, a washing machine that saw and taken. Now Indian Air Force Chief Air Marshal AP Singh has given a big statement about this. he/she said that the US has not yet made any formal proposal on this aircraft. he/she also advocated India to adopt the latest technology and accelerate the development of its fifth generation fighter aircraft ‘Advanced Medium Combat Aircraft’ (AMCA). he/she said that India may have to buy a fighter aircraft prepared to meet the needs immediately, as China is already performing the sixth generation fighter aircraft.
We have to analyze carefully what our requirements are. The cost of F-35 aircraft is also important. It is not a washing machine or refrigerator who just showed and bought it. We have not considered it yet. No proposal has come so far. his/her abilities and price should be well assessed before purchasing F-35.

India’s defense agreement with America
On 14 February, India and the US signed a defense agreement for the next 10 years. Meanwhile, President Trump promised to increase sales of military equipment like F-35. However, the Air Force chief said that India may have to buy fighter aircraft prepared for their immediate needs. he/she cited the performance of the sixth generation fighter aircraft from China. India’s own fifth generation fighter aircraft AMCA is currently in the stage of development. It is expected to join the Air Force by 2035.
