Who is Olympic player Sarabjot Singh?

22-year-old Sarabjot Singh, a resident of Dhin village of Ambala, Haryana, is an Indian shooter who will win a medal for India along with Manu Bhaker in the Paris Olympics 2024. he/she comes from a farmer family, his/her father Jatinder Singh is a farmer and mother Hardeep Kaur is a housewife. he/she was born on 30 September 2001.

At the age of 13, he/she saw a future in air guns

Sarabjot Singh saw some children shooting air guns at a makeshift range during a summer camp. he/she was 13 years old at the time and wanted to become a footballer. But seeing children aiming at paper with pistols changed his/her dream.

In 2014, he/she went to his/her father and said, ‘Dad, I want to take up shooting.’ his/her farmer father told his/her son that the sport was very expensive. But Sarabjot did not give up and worked hard for months to learn shooting. In 2019, he/she won a gold medal at the Junior World Championship, Suhl.

Achieved success in many competitions

Sarabjot Singh has achieved many significant milestones in his/her career, including winning the gold medal in the men’s 10m air pistol event at the ISSF World Cup 2024 in Munich, Germany. he/she also secured India’s first Olympic quota in the pistol shooting category by winning a bronze medal at the Asian Shooting Championships in South Korea in 2023.

Sarabjot Singh’s education

You will be surprised to know that Sarabjot Singh has completed his/her graduation last year and after completing his/her college studies in the year 2023, he/she has won a bronze medal in the Paris Olympics to be held in 2024. he/she has done BA from Punjab University. Along with this, Sarabjot has also studied from DAV College Chandigarh.

Who is Sarabjot Singh’s coach?

Olympic medalist Sarabjot Singh’s personal coach is Abhishek Rana, who taught him/her the tricks of shooting. Apart from this, he/she has been trained at the national level by Samaresh Jung, who himself is a shooter. Sarabjot has taken training at the AR Shooting Academy in Ambala.
