Wriddhiman Saha had announced to retire from all formats of cricket in the middle of the 2024 Ranji Trophy season. his/her last match will be against Punjab.

Former India wicketkeeper Wriddhiman Saha received a guard of honor from his/her colleagues from Bengal on the second day of the Ranji Trophy match against Punjab at Eden Gardens on Friday. Saha has announced retirement from first class cricket. Saha had announced to retire from all formats of cricket in the middle of the 2024 Ranji Trophy season.

The current match against Punjab is going to be their last match against Punjab due to the possibility of reaching Bengal’s knockout. In the first innings, Saha failed to open his/her account with the bat and Gurnoor was dismissed for zero off seven balls off the ball. It has to be seen how he/she performs in the match against Punjab.

In 141 first class matches, Saha has scored 7,169 runs at an average of 48.68, including 14 centuries and 44 fifties. 40 -year -old Saha last played for India in December 2021 in a Test match against New Zealand at Wankhede Stadium. In 40 Tests, Saha scored 1,353 runs at an average of 29.41. Apart from this, he/she has also played nine ODI internationals for India.

For India, he/she played his/her memorable innings against New Zealand in 2016. he/she then made an unbeaten pitch for fast bowlers against good bowling attacks like Trent Bolt, Matte Henry, Neil Wagner and Mitchell Sanner at the Eden Gardens. he/she was voted the best player of this match.
