Sanju Samson out of the race! Who will be the wicketkeeper in Champions Trophy?

New Delhi. There is hardly any question in anyone’s mind regarding which wicketkeeper the Indian cricket team will go with in the Champions Trophy. Rishabh Pant will be the first choice but who should be selected apart from him/her, this is the question before the selectors. Sanju Samson, who made a splash in T20, may not get a chance. According to the information, KL Rahul can be selected as the second wicketkeeper.

Sanju Samson has performed brilliantly in T20 International last year. he/she scored 436 runs in 2024. This star player made a record by scoring two consecutive centuries in T20 and became the first player to do so. Not only this, he/she also became the first Indian to score 3 centuries in T20 International cricket in one year. This performance strengthens his/her Champions Trophy claim but according to reports he/she is not in the running for selection for the 50-over mega tournament.

According to a report by RevSportz, two names are being considered for the wicketkeeper-batsman’s place in the Champions Trophy 2025.
