Sangh’s ‘centenary’ and PM Modi will turn 75… How will the temperature of politics be in 2025?

Manjari Chaturvedi, Poonam PandeyNew Delhi: Seeing the way BJP and its allies have made a comeback in Haryana and Maharashtra elections after going on the backfoot in the Lok Sabha elections this year, the political tug of war is likely to intensify in the coming year also. In the coming year also, BJP and NDA will use all their strength to stop the opposition.

elections to two assemblies

In the new year, two important assembly elections are to be held in the country – Delhi and Bihar. BJP will enter Delhi on its own. BJP will use all its strength to end its 27 years of exile from Delhi. If Arvind Kejriwal makes his/her victory four in Delhi, it will undoubtedly be a big thing for the opposition. While Congress and AAP were together on all seven seats in Delhi in the Lok Sabha elections, both are contesting the assembly elections to be held in 2025 separately. Assembly elections are also to be held in Bihar in 2025. Nitish Kumar is a part of NDA and all the NDA allies are talking about contesting the elections together. At the same time, Tejashwi Yadav will also try hard to form the government on his/her own under the guidance of Lalu. If we talk about the main opposition party of the country, Congress, then in both the states it is in the role of an ally or should we say extra. From electoral point of view, Congress does not have much at stake.

richest corporation polls

Elections for Mumbai’s civic body BMC are also to be held next year. BMC is said to be the richest corporation in Asia. There will be a war between Mahayuti and Mahavikas Aghadi. Although the contest here is between Shiv Sena (Uddhav) and Shiv Sena led by Eknath Shinde, but BJP can also be seen playing an important role in the elections this time. BJP has strengthened its roots in Mumbai. BMC has been ruled by Shiv Sena since 1985 (except 1992-1996). But now Shiv Sena has two pieces.

Agenda of change in Congress

Organizational change seems to be the biggest agenda in the Congress in the coming year. Congress will also have to strengthen its organization. While a big challenge for Congress will be to fight on the ground regarding the issues of the country, on the other hand it will be to maintain and save its government in states like Telangana, Karnataka and Himachal Pradesh. This issue will also be important in view of the way the leadership of the camp is being discussed in the INDIA alliance, TMC is talking about raising the name of Mamata Banerjee and support from many other parties. The way Rahul Gandhi or the Gandhi family seems to be the target of BJP and the government. In the coming year, Congress will face a challenge to overcome it.

Sangh will complete 100 years

In 2025, on the day of Vijaya Dashami, Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh will complete 100 years of its establishment. The Sangh has set a target to increase the number of its branches across the country to one lakh by then. The Sangh will then organize many big events and its impact will be visible in the political scenario as well. Like before, the agenda made by the Sangh for 2025 also includes social harmony. On one hand, while the opposition parties will talk about caste census, BJP can continue its campaign like before by terming this agenda of the opposition as divisive. Through social harmony campaign, Sangh also created an atmosphere in favor of BJP in many elections.

PM Modi will be 75 years old

Prime Minister Narendra Modi will turn 75 on 17 September 2025. Questions may arise again from the opposition. Arvind Kejriwal has already raised the question whether the PM will join BJP’s Margdarshak Mandal when he/she turns 75. However, there is no mention of retirement at 75 years in the BJP constitution. BJP will also get a new national president in the new year. There are many speculations on who will be the new national president of BJP. Every day new names are emerging but BJP leaders are definitely saying one thing in informal conversations that whoever will be the president will be close to the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh. During the Lok Sabha elections, there were discussions that all is not well between the Sangh and the BJP. Many statements of Sangh chief Mohan Bhagwat also sent a similar message. In the review after the election results, the Sangh found that the party’s organization has weakened significantly in many states. After which it was decided that there would be no relaxation from the Sangh’s side.
