New Delhi : BJP has got a psychological edge before Maharashtra and Haryana elections. This progress is from our own side. The effect of this factor was clearly visible with BJP in Haryana elections. Now this has also been openly confirmed. Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh is being mentioned here. Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh’s Sarkaryavah Dattatreya Hosabale was recently in Mathura. Hosbol clarified his/her stand on JP Nadda’s statement ‘BJP does not need anyone…’. he/she said that the Sangh understands the intentions of BJP President JP Nadda. he/she said that this statement of Nadda is about promoting freedom, not about breaking freedom.

Helped in Haryana’s hat-trick

The closing of the gap between Sangh and BJP is being considered as a big gain for the party before the Maharashtra Assembly elections. BJP’s surprise and historic victory in Haryana has bridged the rift in its relations with the RSS. The grassroots efforts of the Sangh Parivar have contributed significantly to BJP’s hat-trick in Haryana. With this, BJP and RSS have reaffirmed their ‘interdependence’.

Earlier, RSS BJP national president JP Nadda had said that the party does not need RSS to run its work, because now it is ‘competent’ on its own. Hosabale said the union understands the ‘spirit’ of Nadda’s statement and it is not a cause for any tension.

Sangh general secretary Dattatreya Hosabale said that if forces work to break Hindus, then they have to be warned.

Hosabale further said that if the Hindu society does not remain united, then in today’s language ‘if we cut then we will divide’. The point is that unity of society is unity. The unity of Hindu society is for public welfare.

Sangh can change the trend of elections

For the RSS, whose influence in the BJP has been diminished by the powerful Modi-Shah partnership, the Haryana victory is proof that its organization and network can still turn an election. Even after the victory in Haryana elections, it was necessary to resolve some problems between the two. The media report quoted sources as saying that this was done during several discussions. These include discussions during the recent RSS meetings held in Ranchi and Palakkad and the meetings held in Delhi. People associated with the party believe that there was never any ideological conflict between the two organisations, only functional difficulties. These are being resolved.

Meaning of Shivraj Chauhan’s rise in stature

The Indian Express report quoted sources as saying that the decision to hand over the responsibility of monitoring the major schemes of Prime Minister Narendra Modi to Union Minister and former Chief Minister of Madhya Pradesh Shivraj Singh Chauhan is part of this exercise. Chauhan is considered a favorite of the RSS. Also, he/she is one of the leading candidates for the post of next BJP President. Hints were also seen in PM Modi’s post soon after RSS chief Mohan Bhagwat’s Vijayadashami address, in which he/she urged people to pay attention to the ‘important national issues’ raised by him/her.

Sangh’s strategy in Maharashtra

The BJP hopes to also unite OBC groups and SC/ST communities to counter the Maha Vikas Aghadi’s focus on Marathas and Muslims in Maharashtra. Therefore, if the Congress has a large support base among the Mahar community, the RSS has reached out to the Matang caste groups. The move by the Eknath Shinde government to appoint a committee to discuss the quota within the Scheduled Caste quota was reportedly taken after pressure from the RSS. The decision on sub-categorization of Scheduled Caste communities is also believed to have helped the BJP in Haryana.

Preparation to change the picture in Jharkhand

In Jharkhand, the other electoral state, the RSS has a strong base because of its work among the tribals. The Sangh has organized its volunteers into small units in tribal dominated areas. Efforts are being made to change the situation through Lok Sabha elections. In the Lok Sabha elections, BJP had lost all the 5 tribal dominated seats in Jharkhand.

One of the areas the RSS is focusing on is Santal Pargana, which is a JMM stronghold. BJP’s campaign here focuses on alleged Bangladeshi ‘infiltration’. Due to this the number of tribals is decreasing. The Sangh is exaggerating this through its workers working in the border areas.
