Salim Khan said- If Amitabh Bachchan wanted, he/she could have saved the pairing of Javed Akhtar and me from breaking up

The hit pair of Salim-Javed gave many blockbuster films while working together, which include films like ‘Sholay’, ‘Zanjeer’ and ‘Deewar’. But later, due to some reason, their pair broke up. Salim Khan and Javed Akhtar parted ways. Neither of them ever told the reason for this nor could it be known in their recently released documentary-series ‘Angry Young Men’. But in a recent interview, Salim Khan has definitely said that if anyone could have saved his/her and Javed Akhtar’s pair from breaking up, it was Amitabh Bachchan. Salim Khan and Javed Akhtar played an important role in Amitabh Bachchan’s career and stardom. They gave birth to Amitabh’s image of ‘Angry Young Man’ and made him/her a star. Salim Khan talked about this in a conversation with ‘NDTV’. he/she said that if he/she were in Amitabh Bachchan’s place, he/she would have tried to save this partnership from breaking up.

Salim Khan said- I cannot stop anyone forcefully

Salim Khan said, ‘When I told them that I want to make separate films, I said okay, no problem. I cannot forcefully stop anyone. I still don’t know why we separated. Whatever happened, it happened.’

Salim Khan further said, ‘But, if I were in his/her (Amitabh Bachchan’s) place, I would have advised him/her (Javed Akhtar) not to leave it, you have a very good pair. You are working, things are going well. Why would you leave it? If I were there, I would have done the same.’
