Sadda Haq Ethe Rakh… Congress on the path of movement for political rights of women

New Delhi: Congress announced to start a movement from July 29 with the aim of political and economic empowerment of women. All India Mahila Congress chief Alka Lamba said, ‘Mahila Congress is going to start a nationwide movement from Delhi on July 29, 2024. This movement will pass through every state and its capital after starting from the capital of India.’

Alka said, ‘We have three major demands. The 33 percent women reservation bill should be implemented under political justice. The participation of our sisters from Scheduled Castes-Scheduled Tribes and most backward and other backward classes should be ensured in this reservation and the law should be implemented. In the states where assembly elections are going to be held, it should also be discussed and implemented there.’
Alka said, ‘Atrocities on women are continuously increasing under the BJP government. Criminals are losing their fear of the law. There are many such examples which are shameful.’

She said, ‘In Rewa of Madhya Pradesh, two women were buried alive by goons, in Navi Mumbai a 30-year-old woman was gang-raped and murdered, in Thane of Maharashtra a nine-year-old girl was raped and murdered and in Rajasthan 20 thousand incidents of crime against women have come to light in six months.’ Alka said that this movement will reach every home and till the three demands are not met, this movement will continue.
