Sachin Pilot to take a new path? The fast happened, but the name of the Congress was not visible.

Congress leader and former Deputy CM of Rajasthan, Sachin Pilot, staged a day-long fast on April 11 to demand action against corruption from his own government. The fast took place amidst tensions between Pilot and the state unit of Congress, who had warned against actions against the party’s interests. The high command had also advised Pilot to resolve his issues with Ashok Gehlot internally. However, some speculate that Pilot may take a new path after the fast, as posters put up at the protest site lacked the Congress party’s name or symbol.

During the protest at the martyr’s memorial site in Jaipur, a banner with Mahatma Gandhi’s picture was the only decoration on the stage behind Sachin Pilot. Two small photographs of Mahatma Gandhi and Jyotiba Phule were also present. While no ruling Congress MLAs attended the protest, several of Pilot’s supporters and other leaders were present, including former MLAs Santosh Saharan and Ramnarayan Gurjar. Notably, no supporter of Pilot was seen carrying the Congress flag or symbol during the dharna.

Pilot’s fast is viewed as a final attempt to pressure the party to resolve the leadership issue in Rajasthan before the assembly elections later this year. Although Pilot had previously insisted on leadership in the state, he was defeated by veteran player Ashok Gehlot. The absence of the Congress party’s name and symbol from the protest site has sparked speculation about Pilot’s future plans, including whether he may leave the Congress and embark on a new path.
