Russia criticizes Biden’s decision to allow Ukraine to attack Russia, calling it a “new round of tension”

Russia has strongly condemned outgoing US President Joe Biden’s decision to allow Ukraine to attack inside Russia using long-range missiles, calling it a significant ‘escalation’ and an escalation in the ongoing conflict between Russia and Ukraine. The United States’ clear involvement in the conflict is stated.

Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov called it a “qualitatively new round of escalation” of tensions and a “qualitatively new situation” in the context of the United States’ involvement in the conflict, TASS reported.

“If such a decision is really formulated and communicated to the Kiev regime, then, of course, this is a qualitatively new round of increase in tension and in the context of the participation of the United States in this conflict There is a new situation from. We are moving forward from this,” Peskov said.

“These signals have been received by the collective West. And they were voiced by the President in St. Petersburg,” he/she said.

Earlier on Sunday, outgoing President Biden authorized the use of long-range missiles by Kiev to target the deepest part of Russia.

The New York Times, citing US officials, reported that the missiles could be used to defend Ukrainian forces against Russian and North Korean attacks in the Kursk region of western Russia.

This comes just days before President-elect Donald Trump takes charge at the White House. In particular, Trump has been critical of US support for Ukraine and has repeatedly called for an end to the conflict.

According to officials, Ukraine will be allowed to use long-range missiles, known as the Army Tactical Missile System, or ATACMS. Officials told The New York Times that Biden’s decision came in response to Russia’s surprise decision to bring North Korean troops into the fight.

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky did not confirm permission for the attack, but suggested on Sunday that more important than lifting the sanctions would be the number of missiles used to attack the Russians.

“Today, many people in the media are talking about the fact that we have received permission to take appropriate action,” Zelensky said in his/her nightly address. “But attacks are not made with words. Such things are not announced. The rockets will speak for themselves.”
