RSS has a big plan before the elections in Maharashtra, BJP will get a boost

New Delhi : RSS has made a big plan amidst the Maharashtra assembly elections. It is believed that this plan is likely to give a boost to BJP in the upcoming elections. Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) is planning to celebrate the 300th birth anniversary of Maratha Malwa ruler Maharani Ahilyabai Holkar. Maharani Ahilyabai Holkar belonged to the Dhangar community. This community is classified as Other Backward Class in Maharashtra.

Party’s focus is on Madhav formula

Given that the BJP-led NDA fared very poorly in Maharashtra in the recently held Lok Sabha elections, the RSS’ plan assumes significance as the state is due to go for assembly polls in October-November. To win elections in Maharashtra, the BJP has relied on its Madhav (social engineering of OBCs) formula. It is an acronym for Mali, Dhangar and Vanjare. However, after the poor performance in the Lok Sabha elections and Maratha anger over reservation, the BJP and the RSS are trying to rework their time-tested model.

Work for public opinion and awareness

When asked about BJP chief JP Nadda’s alleged comment that the saffron party does not need the RSS, RSS Prachar Pramukh Sunil Ambekar said that the Sangh does not directly get involved in election campaigns but works to create public opinion and awareness and the Sangh did the same this time too. Ambekar was addressing a press conference organised at the conclusion of the three-day meeting of prant pracharaks in Ranchi.
