Rohit will not play the first test, Jasprit Bumrah will be the captain


New Delhi. Indian cricket team captain Rohit Sharma will not be able to play the first test match against Australia. Rohit has given this information to BCCI. The first test match of Border Gavaskar Trophy between India and Australia will be played from 22nd November at Optus Stadium in Perth. Rohit has recently become a father for the second time. he/she wants to spend some more time with his/her wife and newborn son. Jasprit Bumrah will be the captain of Team India in the first test match in place of Rohit. Bumrah has reached Australia with Team India as vice-captain. In the absence of Rohit, he/she will be seen captaining in Perth. Rohit Sharma is expected to play in the second test match. The second test of the series will be played in Adelaide from 6th December which will be day night.

Due to the absence of Rohit Sharma, Indian selectors have asked Devdutt Padikkal to stay in Australia. Padikkal was touring Australia with India A team. Padikkal has been included in India’s 18-member team. Who got the place in Rohit’s absence. KL Rahul batted in the nets on Sunday. Due to which the ongoing concerns regarding his/her fitness were removed, indicating that he/she is ready to open the innings in the first Test against Australia.

Rahul can open the innings with Yashasvi Jaiswal
During the ‘Intra-Squad’ (Indian players are divided into two teams to practice) practice match at the WACA ground on Friday, Rahul left the field for medical treatment after being hit on the elbow by fast bowler Prasidh Krishna’s ball while batting. There is every possibility that the team management will start the innings with the pair of Rahul and Yashasvi Jaiswal. On Sunday, 32-year-old Rahul batted without any problems and participated in all kinds of ‘drills’ during the three-hour net session and also batted for a long time.

It’s good that I could come here early and adapt to the conditions. Yes, I have got a lot of time to prepare for this series. And I am excited and ready for it. Team physiotherapist Kamlesh Jain said that Rahul is fine after treatment. Jain said in the video, ‘The most important thing for us was to ensure that he/she did not suffer any fractures. It has been 48 hours since the injury and after treatment he/she is fine. Now he/she is ready to play.

Indian team will rest on Monday
The Indian team has completed training at the WACA ground and the players will go to the Optus Stadium for match ‘drills’ from Tuesday. Monday is a day of rest. Meanwhile, the Indian team management has decided to keep top-order batsman Devdutt Padikkal in Australia as a batting ‘back-up’. Devdutt was recently part of the India A team that played two four-day matches against their Australian counterpart. This left-handed batsman has recently been selected in the Karnataka team for the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy. he/she played innings of 36, 88, 26 and one run on the ‘A’ tour.
