Rohit told how it feels to work with Gautam Gambhir after Dravid


Chennai. After winning the ICC T20 World Cup, Indian cricket team’s head coach Rahul Dravid bid farewell. BCCI had extended his/her tenure for this tournament after the ODI World Cup. After making India the world champion, former Indian captain and head coach Rahul Dravid said goodbye to the team. In his/her place, BCCI appointed former Indian opener Gautam Gambhir as the head coach. he/she took charge of the team from the Sri Lanka tour and now for the first time he/she will prepare the team’s strategy in the Test series.

Indian captain Rohit Sharma said on Tuesday that head coach Gautam Gambhir’s style is different from his/her former coach Rahul Dravid but he/she has a good rapport with the new coach. Rohit was addressing the media ahead of the two-match Test series against Bangladesh starting on Thursday. Talking to the media before the match, Rohit said, “Obviously Rahul bhai, Vikram Rathod and Paras Mhambrey were a different team. We know that the new support staff will bring a different approach.”

Talking about his/her rapport with the new head coach, he/she said, “The new coaching staff has a different style but there is no problem with that. Mutual understanding is important and I have such an understanding with Gambhir.”

Gautam Gambhir took over the captaincy of the team in July and the team will play its first Test during his/her tenure. his/her first overseas tour with the Indian team was to Sri Lanka. The team lost the ODI series while India made a comeback in the T20 series and won the series.
