Rohit Sharma’s blast on team selection, said – I will reveal in West Indies before T20 World Cup, now the opposition…

New Delhi. With the announcement of the Indian team for the T20 World Cup, many questions were looming. Why Rinku Singh was not selected… Why were four spinners selected… Why was Hardik Pandya made the vice-captain… After waiting for 48 hours for Team India’s announcement, these questions have been answered. Indian captain Rohit Sharma and chief selector Ajit Agarkar answered all these questions in a press conference.

BCCI had announced the Indian team for the T20 World Cup on Tuesday. About 48 hours later, on Thursday, Indian captain Rohit Sharma and chief selector Ajit Agarkar answered the questions related to the team. The T20 World Cup is to be played in West Indies and America from June 1. India’s first match is to be held on June 5.

Why did you drop KL Rahul?
On the question of KL Rahul not being selected in the team, Chief Selector Ajit Agarkar said that KL is an excellent player. His performance for the team has been excellent. But in IPL he bats higher, whereas Team India needed a keeper batsman who is playing in the middle order. Rishabh Pant plays at number 4-5. Sanju Samson is such a batsman, who can play anywhere up or down as per the need. That is why Rishabh Pant and Sanju Samson were given preference over KL Rahul.

Why 4 spinners in Team India?
In response to the question why 4 spinners were selected in the Indian team, Rohit Sharma said, ‘I cannot tell everything right now. I will not say much because the opposing captain will also be listening. But it is certain that we wanted 4 spinners in the team. Matches will be held during the day in West Indies or America. This will increase the role of spinners. Rohit then said, ‘When I hold the first press conference in West Indies, I will reveal why 4 spinners have been selected.’ He also said that there are 4 fast bowlers including Pandya in Team India. Therefore the team is balanced.
