Rohit Sharma raised questions on the rules of IPL, now Pant said – it is becoming difficult

New Delhi. Delhi Capitals registered a strong win against Mumbai Indians in the Indian Premier League on Saturday. After winning the match, captain Rishabh Pant joined the list of Indian players who expressed concern over the ‘impact player’ rule. After scoring big scores in two consecutive matches, Delhi team could register victory by a very small margin.

After defeating Gujarat Titans by four runs in their previous match, the team defeated Mumbai Indians by 10 runs on Saturday. Delhi made its highest score of 257 runs for four wickets but while chasing the target, Mumbai Indians came close to victory. With Tilak Verma’s inning of 63 runs in 32 balls, Mumbai scored 247 runs for nine wickets.

Pant said in the awards ceremony after the match, “We were very happy to score more than 250 runs, but due to the impact player rule, it is becoming difficult to defend even this kind of score.”

The captain praised Jack Fraser McGurk who laid the foundation of a big score by scoring 84 runs in 27 balls. Pant said, “He has been amazing from day one and that is what you want from a young player. He is getting better with every match.

After this defeat, Mumbai Indians captain Hardik Pandya, who was on the verge of being out of the playoff race, talked about understanding the match situations in the team. Taking aim at the team’s left-handed batsmen (Verma and Nehal Vadhera), he said that these batsmen should have scored more runs against a bowler like Axar Patel.

He said, “We had adopted a positive attitude towards chasing the target. We could have taken some more chances in the middle overs. The left-handed batsman could probably have played some more big shots against Akshar (Patel). We missed the mark in terms of sports awareness.
